Human language compresses several temporal functions into one word. MLTA separates them, maps their interfaces, and asks which are fundamental, emergent, effective, or observer-dependent.

Failure test: if MLTA produces no quantitative cross-layer relationship beyond existing theories, it remains a useful taxonomy rather than new physics.
