Reality

Established building blocks

  • Aramid, UHMWPE, ceramic, and composite armor systems are established.
  • NIJ 0101.07 defines minimum performance requirements and test methods for law-enforcement torso armor.
  • Condition logging, body-worn electronics, and physiological sensors can be integrated around certified armor.

  • Improve fit, load distribution, configuration control, and lifecycle traceability.
  • Add panel-presence and condition-history awareness without claiming hidden-damage certainty.
  • Support patrol, tactical, and other public-safety derivatives under separate hazard assessments.
