APR-CORE-001 / Orbital-City Architecture

Station Architecture

A modular twin-ring city organized around a reinforced civic, command, logistics, and utility spine.

Aurora Prime is not treated as one giant spacecraft. It is a federation of serviceable districts connected through controlled interfaces, redundant circulation paths, isolated utility zones, and planned expansion hardpoints.

City Before Monument

The visible form follows operations, safety, circulation, and growth.

The central spine carries command, utilities, vertical transport, structural transfer, and protected service routes. Inhabited rings distribute civic, residential, medical, agricultural, research, hospitality, and public functions so that no single district must carry the whole city.

Docking arms and industrial sectors remain physically and operationally separated from quiet habitat zones. Expansion interfaces allow new districts to be added without dismantling the station’s core circulation and utility networks.

Orbital-City System Layers

A public configuration model for narrative continuity, design development, and future CGI planning.

01Protected Core

Command, emergency coordination, backbone utilities, high-capacity lifts, and structural transfer.

02Primary Rings

Habitat and civic districts with multiple cross-connections and independent safe-haven sectors.

03Radial Spokes

People, freight, data, fluids, power, and emergency access move through separated corridors.

04Docking Crown

Berths, tug lanes, receiving, inspection, quarantine, and cargo staging stay outside the civic core.

05Service Trusses

Radiators, storage, maintenance yards, processing, and construction equipment remain accessible.

06Expansion Interfaces

Standardized structural and utility hardpoints allow controlled growth without redesigning the city.

Architecture Atlas

Concept figures support orientation. They do not represent construction-ready CAD.

Labeled concept atlas of Aurora Prime station districts
Figure APR-CORE-001A District and function atlas

The public atlas identifies representative civic, habitat, medical, military, hospitality, energy, refinery, command, and garden districts. Names and boundaries remain subject to continued architecture development.

Circulation

No single hallway is a city.

Passenger, freight, emergency, maintenance, and hazardous-material movement use separate or selectively isolated paths. Cross-ring alternatives prevent one blocked corridor from severing a district.

Compartmentation

Districts fail locally.

Pressure, fire, contamination, power, network, and security boundaries are aligned so an event can be isolated without forcing total-station evacuation.

Growth

Expansion is designed in.

Reserved truss capacity, utility headers, docking approaches, and construction zones support staged additions while protecting inhabited operations.

Connected Aurora Prime Systems

The station form is the common physical framework for every operating branch.
