Aerial systems add flight-energy, falling-object, propeller, navigation and airspace risks that require controls beyond ground-robot safety.
Required controls
- Conservative flight envelopes and mission boundaries appropriate to the property and use case.
- Independent return/land/abort behavior for lost link, navigation faults, low energy or sensor degradation.
- Separation rules between drones, people, livestock, structures and ground robots.
- Payload-specific inhibit and retention controls for cameras, treatment modules and manipulators.
- Mission logging and preflight health checks before autonomous operation.
