Aircraft evidence register

Performance numbers are useful only when their meaning is explicit. This register separates certified operating limits, published manufacturer specifications, development targets and information still awaiting verification.

How to read aircraft performance

Cruise speed

A stated cruise Mach or airspeed is an operating condition, often dependent on flight level, mass and fuel policy. Knots indicated (KIAS) and knots true (KTAS) are different quantities.

Maximum speed

For certified aircraft, the published VMO/MMO is a maximum operating limit, not the fastest speed the airframe can physically attain. Prototype test speed and company design speed are separate evidence classes.

Maximum altitude

Certified maximum operating altitude, service ceiling, planned cruising altitude and an observed flight-test height are distinct. A flight above 10,000 ft does not prove that 10,000 ft is the certified ceiling.

Propulsion and energy

Propulsion describes how thrust or lift is created; fuel/energy records its power source. Hybrid systems require both the fuel-burning generator and electrical energy path.

People on board

Required crew, typical installed seating and legally approved maximum passengers may differ. Experimental uncrewed flight is not equivalent to certified autonomous passenger operation.

Drawing fidelity

Illustrations and component-layout schematics are educational. They are never representations of dimensionally approved manufacturer drawings unless separately authorized and verified.

“Verified” means the individual value is supported by a named public authority, manufacturer or source document. This does not confer aircraft certification or approve an illustration. Full 224-field CSV is included in the downloadable project package.

Publication gate

The site is an educational review release. Aircraft-specific specifications remain under revision where shown. Original Aurora designs are explicitly unbuilt proposals; the AWWA Sky Whale belongs to Oscar Viñals and is an independent unbuilt concept.
