Eight distinct aircraft · Engineering comparisons

Real aviation and possible futures

Four actual company aircraft programs are documented separately from four original Aurora research hypotheses. Renderings are visual studies, not verified CAD.

Additional international research and aircraft concepts

These four are distinct from Joby and Archer, and from Aurora's four original research proposals. Sky Whale is expressly credited to its independent designer.

2. AURORA FUTURE CONCEPTS · NONE BUILT OR CERTIFIED

Each speed, altitude and occupant count is a proposed design target. Solid-state energy storage, hydrogen tankage and turboelectric propulsion require feasibility and failure analysis.

Specification definitions

Published cruise speed is a steady flight condition. Maximum speed may describe an operating limit, a demonstration or a proposed target. Maximum altitude must state whether it is a service ceiling, maximum cruise level or a demonstrated test point. Unknown information is marked as not verified.
