Event Vision & High-Speed Target Tracking

Low-latency visual sensing and fast tracking for moving insects, tool hazards and rapidly changing scenes.

Maturity Emerging / targeted high-value use

Architecture role

Frame cameras are appropriate for most crop and weed recognition. Moving insects and fast tool interactions can benefit from high-speed or event-driven sensing that emphasizes change rather than repeatedly processing an entire image.

Core capabilities

  • Event-based or high-frame-rate sensors for rapidly moving targets.
  • Low-latency target trajectory estimation and optical/tool pointing.
  • Fusion with conventional RGB imagery for species identity and scene context.
  • Independent engagement authorization so fast tracking can never bypass safety logic.
  • Protected-species and uncertain-target rejection before any active intervention.

Aurora design direction

Crop Ray is the principal Aurora use case. Event vision is treated as a specialized sensor layer for moving-target problems, not as a replacement for conventional cameras across the whole product family.
