Aurora Sustainability pages separate what is already fielded from what is developable, what remains research, and what must stay offline. The purpose is simple: inspire serious engineering without presenting concept art as proof, preliminary architecture as certification, or a promising mechanism as a finished product.

Readiness Tiers
Four labels used across public system pages
Engineering is plausible; proof remains
The concept is consistent with known engineering but requires design, prototypes, qualification, independent testing, lifecycle planning, and regulatory review.
Investigation, not a readiness claim
The concept depends on unresolved science, unproven materials, unavailable performance, or integration that has not been demonstrated.
Rejected / Prohibited: A concept can be excluded when the hazard, environmental burden, legal boundary, lack of control, or basic physics makes it unsuitable—even if it produces an attractive rendering.
